La Triennale di Milano
Subalterno1 and NOHAguitARS are excellent enterprises placed in Milanese Lambrate design district. Both took part in New Craft exhibition curated by Stefano Micelli for XXI Triennale.
During the 1st edition of Design City Milano festival the design gallery and the maker of aluminium hardshell guitars come together in a collective show that displays a selection of Italian contemporary designers. Their projects confirm the innovative thinking as foundation of the two institutions that actively promote the encounter between self-production practices, traditional manufacturing and digital fabrication technologies.
Beside the objects that characterized Subalterno1’s exhibitions during the past five years, three instruments manufactured by NOAHguitARS welcome the visitors. The first model of the house – the origin of species – matches with two evolutions that result from the convergence with two italian designers: Lorenzo Palmeri and Fabio Novembre.
Design City Milano – Lambrate Fall Edition
In the middle of Design City Milano festival, on 6th October Subalterno1 presents the opening night in collaboration with NOAHguitARS – from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm – with Stefano Micelli, curator of New Craft exhibition, and part of the designers that cooperated with the gallery.
The exhibition represents an opportunity to revalue the design practices and researches that the gallery investigated during the past five years, starting from 2011 when it was founded by Andrea Gianni. Some of the shows were internationally renowned: Autoproduzioni Italiane (2011), Analogico/Digitale (2012), Mondopasta (2014), Microfacts (2016).
Together with the NOAHguitARS instruments, at the center of the gallery a wooden platform displays a selection of projects that explored the boundary of contemporary self-production through the works of Italian designers: Associato Misto, Massimiliano Adami, Francesco Bombardi e Marcello Ligabue, Fabio Bortolani, Carlo Contin, Antonio Cos, Lorenzo Damiani, Edizioni Pulcinoelefante, Epoca Sport, Andrea Gianni, Ilaria Innocenti e Giorgio Laboratore, Claudio Larcher, Stefano Ivan Scarascia e Francesco Shyam Zonca, Tecnificio, Paolo Ulian.
